It’s Action Time

While walking down the road one day, a turtle fell into a pothole in the center of a country road. He spun his little legs but couldn’t free himself. A rabbit friend came hopping along and offered assistance but no matter what they tried, the turtle remained stuck in the muddy hole. “It’s no use,” the turtle said. “There’s no help for me.” Various other animal friends passed his way but the turtle refused their help, believing his destiny was sealed in the muck of the hole in which he had fallen. He sighed, “It’s hopeless,” and pulled his head inside his shell. Then he heard a rumble. And peeking from his shell, he spotted a tractor heading straight for the pothole in which he sat. Without another thought, he scrambled out of the hole and across the road to safety. Later his friends saw him and asked, “How did you get free? We thought you couldn’t get out of that pothole.” The turtle replied, “Oh, I couldn’t … but then I had to!”

Don’t wait for crisis to develop before you decide to take action on your problem or to make a difficult decision. Act now. You’ll save yourself stress and panic later. Standing in the middle of the road is very dangerous: you get knocked down by the traffic from both sides. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot, I wish you were either one or the other! Revelation 3:15 NIV

Where Our Strength Ends, God's Grace Begins

Two years ago, Lori received a strand of pearls from some dear friend of her. Since that time, She have been intrigued with pearls. So this past week she did some research on how a pearl becomes a pearl. To ensure that she was not falling for any urban legends, She asked Russ McMillan, her resident Marine Biologist, for assistance. Russ explained that a beautiful pearl begins as a fragment of broken shell, a sand grain, or even a parasite. Such an object enters an oyster’s shell and irritates its soft tissue. The irritant then gets covered and strengthened with layers of mother-of-pearl or nacre (NAY-ker). Over the course of time, a beautiful pearl develops. Similarly, the Bible teaches that every human starts out as an irritant. We are enemies of God, dead in our trespasses and sins.    Yet, by God’s amazing  grace , those of us who believe in Christ are declared positionally righteous. Slowly but surely, God then envelops us in Himself and practically transforms us ...

God’s Mercy Will Never Dry Up

Sometime back I heard of this interesting example. A small fish lived in a stream in which water was exceedingly decreasing. The fish felt worried that as the water was steadily going down if the stream would dry up altogether all of a sudden. So it complained to  God  out of anxiety.  God  asked the fish whether it had enough water to swim. The fish answered that it had;  God  asked whether there was enough water for the fish to drink. It said there was; Again  God  asked whether it had enough water to breather and the fish answered that it had. Then  God  asked the fish, why it was so anxious when it had everything it needed? Many of us are worried in this way. If you set your faith on  God , you can live in joy. His mercy will never dry up. It will be poured on us continuously. If you have lost faith in prayer, resume praying. For  God’s  mercy endures forever!! "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the...
